I've had a good experience with Sather's. My husband bought my engagement ring and band there and he said they were very helpful. My mother had given me a diamond from an old ring of hers to use in my engagement ring and they were able to place it in the ring my husband chose. Unfortunately the price just to change out the diamond from the one already in there was $200 which seems a bit expensive for something so simple. I had to have it resized later (the first one is free) and it only took 2 weeks, which seemed like an eternity when I wanted to wear it!
We got a card in the mail a few months later (about 4 or 5) for me to come in for a cleaning which they do periodically, I'm not sure for how long though. They did an excellent job and my ring looked like the first day I saw it. They also offer you water (or coffee I think) while you wait and are very friendly.
We later bought my husbands wedding band there and they have a surprisingly large collection of men's rings. They also did a great job of explaining what each ring was made of and it's particular qualities, such as titanium rings cannot be resized and aren't good for people who work in hard labor jobs (like construction) because they are extremely difficult to cut off.
We were very happy with the ring we purchased for my husband and it only took a few weeks for the order in his size to come in. He wasn't sure on the fit so they told him to wear it around for a few days and if it still didn't feel right they would resize it again. Unfortunatly, the second day he wore it he dropped it on concrete and put a dent in it. We were a little disappointed that it wasn't sturdier, but it was a pretty hard fall. We took it into them and explained what happend and they had no problem fixing it for free. It has a "brushstroke" style finish so they couldn't just buff it out without ruining the finish, so they had to send it out to be repaired and it took about 2 weeks. It wasn't even a simple repair and they still did it for free which was really nice.
I haven't had any problems wiht my ring but I feel pretty confident in them repairing it if I do have problems, like if any of the smaller diamonds fall out. They have a good warranty policy, which I highly recommend anyone get because you never know what can happen and even small diamonds can be expensive to replace.
I would highly recommend Sather's to anyone wanting to buy an engagement ring or wedding band. Their customer service was excellent and they are very professional and helpful. I haven't bought any other jewelry there but they also had a beautiful selection of necklaces, earings, and rings that I wouldn't mind getting for an anniversary. :)

My husband I have always boughten our jewelry from Sather's but no more. I accompanied my son last year to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend. We walked in and started looking at the jewelry. We found some sets we wanted to look at but nobody would assist us. There was a gal "cleaning" behind the counter who completely ignored us. When another couple walked in, she went right over to help them and we were still waiting. We waited for over 20 minutes. I finally got mad and we left. We went to Fred Meyer Jewelers and purchased a beautiful $2400 set and, get this, there was no extra charge for sizing like there is at Sather's. We were treated great at Fred Meyer's. The staff was very friendly and amusing. That's where I'll go from now on. I'm terribly disappointed with Sather's. I even did their store signage for them years ago so had worked with Sid and Julie and thought we had a good rapport. Goes to show you, doesn't it?

My husband purchased my engagement ring here. With 2 weeks, the bottom portion of my band was bent. When I took it back to have them fix it they asked me if I drove a manual car... I told them I did and they blamed me for damaging my ring!!! Okay let's think about this... who in their right mind shifts with their left hand when driving a manual? They were going to charge be 1/2 the amount it costed to buy the ring to fix the band. When I went to another jeweler to have it fixed (which they fixed for $25), Sather's then wouldn't keep my warranty for my ring. They were so rude through out the whole process. After 5 years, it still infuriates me to think how we were treated.
